FAQ

Can I come and look around your cattery before I decide to leave my cat with you?

Of course! In fact, we recommend this as we believe it makes you more relaxed about leaving your cat with us as you will know that they are in safe hands!

How do I book my cat in to stay with you?

Your cat’s holiday can be booked in person, over the telephone or via email. Click here for contact details

Do I need to bring anything for my cat’s stay?

You need to bring with you your cat’s vet book/vaccination certificate. Cats also need to be transported in a secure carrier, which can be left with us if needed. We also recommend that you bring something with a smell of home with your cat to help them settle, this is especially helpful for more nervous cats. Finally, if your cat is on a special diet or you feed him/her a specific brand of food, please bring this with you.

Can I bring my cat in at short notice?

Generally this is not a problem as we tend to make sure we have spare runs set up for emergency trips. However, at busy periods such as Christmas this may not be possible. Please contact us and we will try our best to help you if we can.

Will my cat be safe with you?

Yes, health and safety is key to our cattery and all runs are kept locked. Entry to corridors where runs are located is via two locked doors.

What happens if my cat becomes ill during their stay?

In the event your cat needs veterinary attention we will take him/her to the vet. We will always try to contact you beforehand but if this is not possible we will take your cat to the vet. We use our local vets, San Anton who have a clinic in Dolores and also a 24 hour hospital in Guardamar, so whatever time of day your cat has access to excellent medical care.

My cat likes going outside, will s/he cope in a cattery?

Cats have spacious rooms in our cattery which have been built according to standards set out in the UK by cat welfare groups such as Cats Protection and International Cat Care. Cats can see out at all times and they all take it in turns to have a go on our walkway for extra exercise. If you have further concerns please feel free to call us or come and see us.

Are there any requirements for my cat to board with you?

All cats need to be vaccinated, de-flead and de-wormed before they can board with us. Male cats should be neutered. See our health conditions for more information

My cat is nervous will he be ok?

We treat each cat as an individual and understand that each has their own personality. Most cats adapt well and are generally fine within a few hours. Some cats do take more time to adapt but in general by the time you return your cat will be enjoying their holiday! We also have experience with nervous and shy cats so will adapt our approach to your cat as necessary.

My cat doesn’t like other cats, is this a problem?

Our new runs are perfect for your cat. They have a wall and screen in between the runs and only the top is mesh! However, if you choose our normal runs, we have found that cats are very adaptable and generally settle well in to our cattery environment with other cats. Also, if we think your cat is getting stressed by seeing their neighbour we can put up a screen between runs to reduce stress for your cat.

Is there a minimum age for cats to be boarded with you?

There is no minimum age, however cats must be fully vaccinated, which is normally done at around 12 weeks old. We would also not recommend leaving cats at a younger age than this for various reasons. If you have any concerns about your kitten, please feel free to contact us and we will answer your questions.

My cat is an indoor cat, does s/he still need to be vaccinated and de-flead?

Yes! All cats must be vaccinated and de-flead before entering the cattery, please do not be offended if we ask you when your cat was last de-flead, especially if they are in for a long time. Veterinary professionals also recommend vaccinating all cats regardless of whether they are indoor or outdoor cats due to the way in which these common viruses are spread.

What time can I drop off/pick up my cat?

We are open Monday – Saturday, by appointment only, between 9am-11.45am and 4.30pm-5.15pm, Sundays 9am-11.45am. Appointments are allocated 15 minutes to ensure you can settle your cat in and that you have enough time to ask any questions you may have. Outside of these times is by exceptional circumstances ONLY and must be pre-arranged with us. Collection outside normal opening hours will incur an Out of Hours fee.

Can I pay by card?

We currently accept cash only. Please ensure you have the cash when you come to collect your cat as we have no facilities for card payments.
